Old Farm Yard - House and Barn

Standing at this old farm yard, Christmas Morning, one couldn't help but imagine the Christmas Morning's of past years.

Prosperity Year - Fall 1999 This year's harvest would lead to the next 4 years of drought.

Drought Years - 2000-03 This dugout would eventually dry up that year, and i was able to walk to the bottom. A once in a life time experience, we hope.

Dad tells the story of how, forty years ago, he was opening the ice on the dugout for the cattle to drink and he dropped the crow bar down the hole. In 2003 he was able to retrieve the bar, which was still standing straight up in the mud.

Prosperity Returns - 2004-05 Prosperity Returns - so we thought.

The 2003 harvest had to be completed in the spring of 2004. The 2004 harvest was hit hard with frost in August. The 2005 harvest was hit with fall rains leaving a not so desireable crop. There's always next year - Lord Willing.
